CJ Willis Bespoke.
Welcome to CJ Willis Bespoke, where we work with you to realise unique designs and statement pieces.
What is CJ Willis Bespoke?
We have created a service that provides both design and making for individuals and industry professionals, helping to realise designs from initial concept, right through to completed pieces.
Specialising in custom furniture, homeware and statement pieces, we create work that is both beautiful and functional.
Why go Bespoke?
There’s nothing quite like original design. Each interior project you work on is original and deserves original substance. We can create beautiful, striking pieces of functional design that will complement your chosen aesthetic.
Industry Professionals
We work with a wide range of industry professionals such as interior designers, architects, architectural designers construction firms and other designer makers.
We offer ‘trade’ discounts to industry professionals who are looking to commission us on behalf of their clients. This can be discussed at our initial meeting.
Materials
We are predominantly a metal working studio and do all fabricating, casting and machining in-house. We work in all types of steel, brass, bronze and aluminium, and we are happy to discuss other materials, processes and mediums that may be needed for your unique project.
Working with a varied team of other artisans, ranging from woodworkers and upholsters to glass workers and ceramicists, we are able to realise mixed media projects in addition to purest forms of metal work.
What We Make
There is no exact blueprint of what we’re prepared to design and make, having worked on projects from product design to architectural installations.
To get you started, here are a few things to give you an idea of the general breadth of what we create:
Furniture, homeware, lighting, mirrors and architectural hardware.
There are some images below to get an idea of the work we usually undertake. If you’re unsure, just send a message on the form below and we’ll let you know our thoughts.
Client Journey.
Below, you can see the various stages involved in commissioning a design piece. We keep things completely transparent and easy to understand, so, you always know where you stand.
1. Ideas
Just send in any ideas and concepts, no matter how loose or specific. We’ll look through your ideas and prepare for a discovery meeting with you.
2. Meeting
We’ll set up an initial, informal meeting in person or via Zoom, to discuss what you’re looking for and how we can help. We’ll discuss design, materials, costings, aesthetics, timelines and any relevant information needed.
Don’t worry, this is complementary and there’s no obligation to move forward with the process.
3. Quotation & Acceptance
After our initial meeting we’ll get to work finalising some of the finer points of the design, manufacturing processes, materials, a more definitive timeline and anything else relevant to the tender process.
We’ll be able to give you an accurate quotation based on these elements so you have all the information before commissioning us to make the piece.
Depending on the complexity of the project, we may produce CAD renders or drawings to help visualise the design.
You may request further meetings, before the acceptance of the commission, however these will be charged at an hourly design rate. Once the commission has been agreed, we will have further meetings in the event of changes or updates to design, however these are a part of the process and are not charged.
Once we have ironed out the specifics and agreed to work together, we will require a 50% commissioning fee before materials are sourced, other artisans are bought in and the build can begin.
4. Work Begins
We’ll purchase the materials, create detailed drawings and commission third parties, if needed. Now the build can begin.
We catalogue all parts of the build as we go. We’ll keep you up-to-date with photographs and short videos so you’ll always know where we are with the project.
5. Delivery & Installation
We can offer both delivery and/or delivery with installation of the designs at their final location. If we are required to instal, we may have to carry out a site visit, depending on what information is available from the client.
We offer a ‘white glove’ service on all of our site visits, installation and client meetings.
